Efter stillinger i Falsterske Fodregiments Musikkorps og Malmö Symfoniorkester, ansat som basbasunist i Det Kgl. Kapel 1974 – 1988, og 1988 – 2013 som professor for messingblæserne på Det Kgl. Danske Musikkonservatorium, København.
Spiller barokbasun i ”Den Danske Violonbande” og medstifter af ”Det Kgl. Kapels Brass Ensemble” og ” Thorvald Hansen Brass”. Har med disse ensembler foretaget en lang række indspilninger og koncerter i Europa og USA, og har arrangeret og komponeret en stor del af ensemblerne’s repertoire.
Forfatter til en basunskole og bogen: ”Kunsten at puste” (- om vejrtrækning for blæsere, skrevet sammen med Ingrid Holck), ”Historiske messingblæse instrumenter”, og sammen med Troels Svendsen en bog om verdens ældste orkester: Det Kongelige Kapel.
Komponist og arrangør af musik for messingblæsere udgivet på: www.brassmusiconline.com og på www.daniamusic.dk. Mogens arrangementer og kompositioner spilles “world-wide” af en lang række ensembler som f.eks. Berlinerphilharmonikerns brass ensemble, Concertgebow orkestrets brass ensemble, German Brass, Den danske basun kvartet, Den danske messingkvintet, Det Kgl. Kapels messingblæsere samt alle de danske symfoniorkestres og militærorkestres messingblæsere.
Har givet en lang række kurser og undervist på workshops og symposier.
Har været instruktør og dirigent for en række ensembler: DKDM-Brass, DKDM Big band, Musikkorps Fyn, Slesvigske Musikkorps, Schleswig-Holstein Festival orkester’s brass-ensemble, Jeunesses Musicales orchestra’s brass-ensemble, Flexible Brass (Holland), Riga City Big Band, Riga operaens Brass EnsembleDen Kgl. Livgardes Musikkorps, Royal Danish Brass, Copenhagen Brass og studerende på konservatorierne i Amsterdam, Indianna USA, Oslo, Glasgow, Stockholm , Riga, Helsinki m.m. Har været dommer til flere konkurrencer arrangeret af “International trombone association”.

ABOUT MOGENS
After working with the Falster Infantry Regimental Band in Vordingborg and the Malmö Symphony Orchestra, in 1974 Mogens Andresen became a bass trombonist in the Royal Danish Orchestra. In 1988-2013 Mogens Andresen was appointed professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen and head off brass. Mogens Andresen was a co-founder of a brass ensemble from The Royal Danish Orchestra and THORVALD HANSEN BRASS” play Baroque trombone in the ensembles the Rosenborg Trio and THE DANISH VIOLONBANDE. With these ensembles he has made many recordings and has toured in Europe and USA. At the Royal Danish Academy of Music Mogens has formed a brass ensemble and a big band and with them visited European music academies in Scotland, Poland, Czech Republic, Portugal, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Latvia.
Author of a trombone tutor book as well as books on the history of brass instruments. Writer of ROYAL DANISH ORCHESTRA The World’s Oldest Orchestral Institution (ALSO AVAILABLE IN ENGLISH ).
Composer and arranger of music for brass published on BRASSMUSICONLINE.DK. His compositions and arrangements are performed worldwide, among others: The Brass Ensemble of the Concertgebow Orchestra, German Brass, Brass Enslemble of the Berlin Philharmonic, The Danish trombone Quartet, the Danish Brass Quintet and brass ensembles of all the Danish Symphony Orchestras and military Bands.

Have been invited to judge “International trombone association” competitions on several occasions.
